like i said on another blog post, i read that Ares is on like 65% of internet users' computers. not sure how accurate it is, but that's what i read. i do believe it though cuz it's got like 15 million downloads or something like that and it gets a lot of word of mouth advertising.

Hello David,

It is your responsibility to evaluate and determine which files are safe to download. If you end up downloading a protected file, usually in the WMA format, then that file requires an additional license in order to play it. Also, please be advised that in an effort to discourage file sharing, the RIAA likes to circulate what are known as 'fake files' amongst the file sharing networks, and that is probably about as far as they pursue these matters.

Hello! I have a big problem, a month ago I deleted all files in the video library Ares, without warning me that it will permanently erase the hard disk. I tried different programs to recover files without result. I have a chance? Please .. help me!

From what I understand, it's NOT illegal to share share files as long as you have permission to or they are not violating a copyright. When I download files from Ares, I personally don't share them, just to be on the safe side. I know it's not really fair, but I just want to be safe. Now I REALLY think that the developers of Ares should somehow make it possible for the software to hide the users' ip addresses. Now that would be cool and keep everyone safe.
