Ares: The Beginning
As previously mentioned, an upcoming post would outline some of the major historical properties of Ares, and how it has established itself as the #1 filesharing software of choice, worldwide. Born in mid 2002, it was operated on the Gnutella Network. Later that year, the program broke away to a complicated and proprietary network of its own. Thus, opening the doorway to its independency and ultimate success as a trusted and reliable p2p solution.
As time passed, the software continued to grow and reach staggering heights in popularity; but why did everyone begin using this system, this network of such colossal magnitude? The answer is … because it truly delivered on its word. People finally found a stable platform to use, along with a talented and open-minded development team, and they respected that. As a result, users reciprocated their debt of gratitude by flooding the Network with content as fine as a grain of sand; I’m talking about high fidelity music files, crystal clear movies, rare copies of distributable software and games – and millions of them all inclusive! As you can imagine, this is how it all erupted, and now that it has been independent for 6 1/2 years. The network continues to thrive and grow with millions of new users each year, all (or most) of which are enjoying the stable functionality, clean cut dynamics and super high quality filesharing experience that they have come to love so much!

I got the Ares software today and it’s pretty cool. I got to download some of the songs that I’ve been wanting. It actually works a heck of a lot better than I thought it would. However, I do have one problem with it and I was wondering if you could tell my why Ares just stops downloading. I mean you can see the progress, but it’s like it pauses. Is that because I’m on a dial-up connection? Unfortunately, I live in such a small town that we don’t have high speed internet so I don’t really have a choice. Any help you could give me would be great.

Your dial-up connection is not likely the cause of your download issues. It is, however, possible that some of the files you are attempting to download lack the proper sources needed to complete the download. In some cases, switching nodes can be a viable solution; in other words, close/restart the Ares application and monitor your transfer progress. In other cases, you might be trying to download a file that is either fake, or not shared as much at certain times of the day. Try downloading the file(s) that give you transfer problems at the opposite time of day. I also recommend avoiding files that appear to have a very large amount of sources. You’d be surprised with how quickly files containing 3 or even 2 stars can download, and not to mention that those are usually of the highest fidelity tracks on the Network.

I want to download Ares but I don’t know how. Jeez, do you click on the download button or the download text link? How do you install it on ur computer? Can I download adult content?

You can download Ares very easily by clicking on the download button, and choosing the ‘run’ option. The installer package will open up a pop-up screen where you should follow the on-screen step-by-step instructions. Once installed, launch Ares just like you would normally launch any other program, like word or excel … The network is vast, and the community is growing by hundreds of thousands each and every day; so chances are that you will be able to find just about anything you could possibly think of.

I’ve been using Ares for a few years and it seems to have stopped downloading (it says “connecting”, but never does anymore). I now have Windows XP, using Ares 2.0.9.3030 (it used to be the best version). I’m wondering if I’ll lose my song list after downloading a newer version, and what version would you recommend? Also, by whom (filehippo, etc.)? Thanks…

Ok, so I’m not sure if this is where to ask for support for the Ares download program, but I saw that others have gotten support here so I thought I would give it a try.
I am having a problem. I know that Ares is supposed to be able to download torrent files, but can you tell me how exactly I go about doing that?
